PROGRAM EXPANSION MADE POSSIBLE THROUGH GRANTS
Miracles in Motion, Inc. is happy and honored to be the recipient of two grants which will allow the expansion of our current riding program to serve the needs of our special riders within the Monadnock Community
A generous $10,000 Grant came from the NH Charitable Foundation, a division of the New Hampshire Community Fund, serving the needs of non-profit organizations within the Monadnock Region. The Board of MIM is extremely grateful for this expression of confidence in our mission, and we wish to thank the Trustees of NH Charitable foundation with deep appreciation.
What does this mean for MIM? This gift will enable MIM to expand its therapeutic riding services within the Monadnock community to include a new program designed to address the needs of riders with challenges of autism. This new program will begin with our April 2008 session and continue through the fall session in November 2008 expenses incurred in this program are expected to be covered under the NH Charitable Foundation Grant including the cost of certifying several new instructors needed to conduct the classes.
In addition to the above Grant, our need to increase the number of suitable horses used in the Autistic program has been met by another generous Grant of $2500 from the Mary Louise Billing Trust. With these funds, we have been able to purchase one horse and are looking at another possible purchase. We extend our gratitude to the Louise Billings Trust for their generous support of Miracles in Motion.
This expansion of services means an increased need for more personnel are looking for more active volunteers willing to contribute time and energy to helping those with special needs enhance their quality of life. It is such a rewarding endeavor!!! Consider giving whatever time you can to Miracles in Motion. For more information, please call Terri Handy, Program Director, at-7282. She will be happy to register you as a new student rider or as a happy volunteer.
MIM is dedicated to providing the “miracle” of therapeutic horseback riding to improve the physical, emotional, cognitive and social lives of individuals with special needs. The Keene based non-profit organization was founded in 1999 and has served the needs of over 100 children and adults throughout the Monadnock Region.
